Sew......Ers Block

I have been in a funk for a few weeks now. My brain has been on stand by for what reason I have no idea. No matter what I do I just could not think of any creative items I wanted to sew. Usually my mind runs over time with ideas. I even see ideas in my sleep. Sometimes when I awake out of my sleep with some idea. I have to get up quickly to write it down by this time I can't go back to sleep.  I lay there in the bed staring at the ceiling, the window and thinking about the idea so much that I really did not have to write it down.

I guess my brain just wanted a break from all of the creative ideas it had. I just went with the flow. 

I believe that sometimes we don't know how to shut ourselves off so that other things in our lives can function so our creative selves shut off automatically so that we can balance.

So these are the creation that I did now that the block has been lifted

My Bobbin Mess

OK I hate to see my bobbins with those little strings hanging everywhere and all tangled up here and there and every where. Two of my machines use different size bobbins so I have them separated and stored into different containers. But I still have some organizing to do.

Sometimes I cannot sew until sewing room is cleaned and organized. Depending on my mood It irritates me if I have to fix something or wind bobbin when I am on the roll and pressed for time.
So I try and keep my bobbins organized so that I can just pick them up without strings hanging everywhere. what I use are those pony tail holders

It is very simple and self explanatory. Just hand wind  the thread around the bobbin

and put the pony tail holder on

I hate winding bobbins. Why? I have no idea.  It's not like it is hard to do and I do it so quickly. So I ask myself again WHY?  I bought me a bobbin winder  to prewind my bobbins so I can just casually grab one when I need it. I wind about 4 each of black and white.  Then I get all the other colors that I have available.

Peplum Style Apparel

I love peplum style apparel.. The history of the peplum dates back to Ancient Greek Fashion. The last 2 years people have been adding more of this style to their wardrobe. The style has been circulating a little more this year 2013. Here i have found pictures of some peplum apparel.

This retro style 70's is what is in but it is gonna take a little more time to get some people on board. Me i will never be on board like the picture to the left. But i do like the retro 70's

I was always found of vintage type clothes. I love watching the old black and white movies. Those dresses that they wore was to die for dresses. I just love love them. I still will catch a movie on Saturaday just to see the clothes. I go to resale stores to find pattern. So here are some i have found over the years

Look-A-Likes

Of course every time i go to the store to buy me something i look at it and say " I'm not gonna buy that cause i can make it" I am sure all of us Sewing Divas say that. But the thing with me is i never do unless i really realy like it. Well this time i said i will start taking pictures of the stuff i want to make. What do you know it worked. I went home and made this top

I Don't Know? HELP

I really have no idea what these are. If someone could be so kind and tell me. Please. The ideas i know probaly came from the turkish pants/mc hammer pants. I call myself trying yo make them by memory but my memory fall me cause i was way off. I just had to go back to that store and take pic, If i had more time i would have tried them on just to see the fit of them. These dang on pants, skirt or dress got me so curious its crazy, i gotta go back to that store and try them on. But anywho here ther are.

Nighties for Lauren

This is Lauren in some nighties that i quickly stitched before here journey home to Virgina. She had be asking for some nighties since she's been here. Not realizing that my time had run out i quickly whipped up her a little nighty dreess with the little matching slippers. I think i did a ok job to be rushing.

My harlem pants

I saw this romper that I adored in a clothes store I think it was Citi Trends. You would have thought that it was a dress at first. Anybody that knows me know that i have to eye disect the whole outfit.
I am always courious as to how certain clothes are contructed. Even though i know i like to see how the particular brand made it.
Then I look up under what i thought was the skirt part of the dress. I was in shock. I said in a low voice what the hell is this.
After looking, touching and feeling and disecting it with my eyes, I said mmmm..... this is kinda cute. It was a light blue jean material and it had a poof skirt section which was sewed together so that it look like a big pant. the leg part had elastic in it. It was also a tube top style dress. After looking at it I said to myself I can make that. But i always say that never make nothing maybe something close.

I look all over the net for 2 days for the name of this attire. I think I want to go back and get that outfit and post it here although I am sure people have seen this outfit before.

Finally that second day I said to myself well they almost look like those pants that the tukish people wear. I statred looking up turkish pants. Guess what popped up? MC Hammer pants. I said to myself DAH.

So now that i am on the right track maybe i will find them. Nope I did not find the exact outfit. But what i did find was an idea for somthing else. I came up with this bright idea of mine. I have a stash of clothes that I have made years ago and a ton of stuff that I want to refashion and this is what I came up with. A pair of Harlem/Turkish pants or whatever you want to call them. I don't like how the fit me though. I will eventually make a pair that i like because they are so easy.

My Verson

I love looking at fashions. I used to a lot of window shopping. Just to see what the current fashions were. I also love seeing what people like to wear, Everybody have their own style of fashion and i love watching. Now i don't have to go out and window shop any longer. I just turn on my computer and whala. All the fashion i want to look at are everywhere. When i see something i like i save the picture to my computer and i will visualize it to what i would like to see different about the garment. Then at some time and point I will then go to my sewing machine and produce what i visualize. I guess you can say they are my inspirational photos. So this was a top that i made but i did not realize that it was one of my inspiration picture
